Free Mind Foundry exclusive sponsor of the “Catania Air Show 2025” air show
Catania, 9 April 2025 - This morning, during a press conference held at the Municipality of Catania, an extraordinary event for the city was officially announced: after more than thirty years, the National Acrobatic Team, better known as "Frecce Tricolori", will return to sail the skies of the Catania coast on 4 May with a spectacular performance on the open seafront.
The event, made possible thanks to the exclusive sponsorship of Free Mind Foundry, an international cooperation hub for technological research and higher education founded in 2017 in Catania by Simone Massaro, represents an important moment of reflection on today's reality and strengthens the sense of patriotism by giving value to our national defense capacity.
Massaro is a visionary leader and entrepreneur, recognized as an expert in the fields of digital transformation, cybersecurity and renewable energy. With vast international experience in industrial applications and software technologies for energy management, he is today CEO of several excellent technological companies such as BaxEnergy, Intellisync, WiSNAM. Simone Massaro strongly wanted to support this event in memory of his father, an Air Force pilot, whose death occurred on May 5th twenty years ago.
«Bringing the Frecce Tricolori back to Catania is an indescribable emotion, which combines my love for the city where I was born and where I spent my adolescence with the respect and affection I have for the Italian Air Force, to which my father dedicated his life as a pilot», declared Massaro. «This event represents for me much more than a simple acrobatic demonstration:
it is the symbol of a personal bond and a constant commitment to wanting to give something significant back to the Catania community."
The initiative is organized by the Aero Club of Italy and the Aero Club of Catania, with the patronage of the Municipality of Catania. Free Mind Foundry, sole sponsor of the event, is a hub of technological excellence and innovation which today involves over 400 professionals engaged daily in research, technological development and digital transformation projects, contributing to the growth of the Etna area and strengthening its international reputation.
«Supporting the Frecce Tricolori also means demonstrating how innovation and technology can integrate perfectly with institutional initiatives, our national history, the culture and values of our country, creating new opportunities for development and visibility for our territory», concluded Simone Massaro.
